
Nigerian football legend Kanu Nwankwo has delivered a message to the Super Eagles ahead of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon.
The
Super Eagles of Nigeria will play Cameroon first at home on Friday,
September 1 in Uyo before the return leg in Yaoundé on Monday, September
3.
Ahead of the crucial encounters, Kanu who played in three FIFA World Cup tournaments has urged the Super Eagles to believe.
“I know my team, the Super Eagles can beat the Cameroonian team. I want them to believe they can do it and make sure they do it,” the 41-year-old said in a video shared on the Twitter account of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
“For the fans, the supporters out there please let's get behind them, support them and give them all that they want from us.”
The Super Eagles of Nigeria are aiming to qualify for their fifth FIFA World Cup tournament.
The
Super Eagles currently sit top of Group B with six points after
victories over Zambia and Algeria. Cameroon are second with two points
while Zambia and Algeria are bottom.
