The notorious robber, Kayode Oluwole who specializes in robbing motorists held up in traffic in the Oshodi area of the state has been arrested.
It was gathered that the 27-year-old often disguised as a drink seller to attack unsuspecting motorists who wanted to patronize him. The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force on Environment and Special Offences (Enforcement), SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, who released the statement, said whenever Oluwole failed, he resorted to force, using a hammer to break car glasses and robbing owners of their phones and other valuables.
Operatives of the Task Force, on Saturday, apprehended Oluwole after he allegedly broke the side screen of a Toyota Corolla and snatched two phones and a bag containing valuables from a woman.
Egbeyemi said, “Immediately the suspect was arrested and every item was stolen recovered, the owner was called on the telephone to pick up her bag and the two phones at the task force office. The suspect usually pretended as a drink seller.” Oluwole, a native of Abeokuta, Ogun State, was said to have confessed to the crime in his statement to the police.
