David Cassidy dies aged 67 from organ failure

Partridge Family teen idol David Cassidy dies aged 67 from organ failure nine months after revealing his battle with dementia

David Cassidy, who was the star of the hit TV sitcom 'Partridge Family' has died of organ failure at the age of 67.
David was a teen TV star. He also sold millions of records and went on to become the fantasy of millions of girls. He died on Tuesday in a Florida hospital after his organs failed. His liver and other organs shut down and early Sunday his son and ex-wife were summoned to the hospital to say goodbye.
Family sources tell TMZ, David had been on life support since Monday. Doctors advised the family Tuesday the only way David could survive was with a liver transplant, but he was not a candidate because he would never survive surgery. The family decided at around noon to remove life support. He died almost immediately after life support was withdrawn.
Cassidy, who announced earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with dementia, died surrounded by his family, a family statement released by publicist JoAnn Geffen said. Those present when he died included his brothers Shaun, Patrick, and Ryan, his children Beau and Katie, along with various nephews and his ex-wife Sue Cassidy.
