Coming
on the heels of the success of their box office hits, the producers of
30 Days in Atlanta, A Trip to Jamaica and 10 days in Sun City are set to
unveil their December offering, titled ‘The Accidental Spy’.
Filled
with intrigue, action, drama, and rib-cracking comedy, ‘The Accidental
Spy’ tells the story of IT specialist, Emmanuel Prince, who gets
blindsided by his cheating girlfriend. When Prince travels to London and
signs up for a reality show to take his mind off his recent woes, he
unwittingly gets caught in the middle of a plot by a powerful Nigerian
criminal cartel.
A
co-production of Peekaboo Productions and Corporate World
Entertainment, the film sees AY and Ramsey Nouah, the award-winning duo
from 30 Days in Atlanta back in the saddle with diversely talented cast
such as Alibaba (The Wedding Party), Emma Oh My God (The Wedding Party),
Rahama Sadau (TATU), David Jones David (Hotel Majestic), Bucci Franklin
(Jemeji), Bryan Okwara, Hollywood actor, Miguel Nunez Jr. (Juwana Man),
South African star, Thenjiwe Moseley (10 Days In Sun City), and British
debutante, Christine Allado, to name a few.
Lead
writer and producer, Darlington Abuda had this to say about his latest
creation: “The Accidental Spy is a labour of love and I can’t think of a
better way to enter the December festive season. I am indeed elated by
the fact that movie-lovers across Nigeria and in various other
territories are going to enjoy this potpourri of love, laughter and
action. We shot the movie with the mindset of giving Nigerians an
awesome cinematic experience. I’ve always wanted to make a film in
London. It’s obviously one of the great cities of the world, and when
you make a film in a foreign city you get a chance to really experience
and imbibe their culture.”
The
Accidental Spy is pegged as a certain box office hit for Peekaboo
Production, Corporate World Entertainment Limited , especially with
FilmOne Distribution Limited, Nigeria’s fastest growing film
distribution company and the distributors of The Wedding Party, 10 Days
In Sun City, A Trip to Jamaica, Fifty, Wives on Strike and Ghana Must
Go, handling the film’s release.
Moses
Babatope, Group Executive Director and COO of FilmOne, shared his
excitement on the project, saying “We are delighted to partner with
Corporate World Entertainment on yet another film that is sure to set
the Nigerian box office alight. The CWE team has perfected the recipe
for entertaining audiences all over the world. We are proud to bring
this film to Nigerian audiences”.
The movie was shot on location in Lagos, London and Amsterdam, and is set to hit cinemas across Nigeria from December 1, 2017.
