A military father returned home after being away on tour for six months and the varying reactions of his family members as they welcomed him is priceless.
Captain Ian Gavagan arrived home in Dublin, Ireland after spending six months in the Golan Heights, on the Israel-Syria border. His wife, daughter, and son were waiting for him when he arrived with other soldiers and he was greeted with excitement by his wife and daughter but his son was so overcome with emotion, he was rooted to the spot and broke down in tears.

In the heartwarming video, his young daughter ran over to him shouting, "Daddy, Daddy!". His wife, Maria also ran over to embrace and kiss him. When they momentarily left each other's arms, they noticed the little boy, Sean, was still where he had been since with his head bowed and tears streaming down his face. Another man walked up to him and tried encouraging him to go meet his father but he remained where he was, crying.

UN peacekeeper Gavagan was one of 100 soldiers stationed at Casement Aerodrome military base who returned home last week. He had flown back earlier during his deployment to marry Maria and then headed straight back out to the region.
