A little boy was left in pain after a waiter carrying a hot pot of
soup accidentally slipped and threw the pot in his direction, burning
him.
The child and his parents were in a restaurant in Yongzhou City, in
China's central Hunan Province, when the accident happened. In a CCTV
video, the waiter is seen walking toward the family as the boy plays on
his mobile phone. As the waiter gets close to their table, he slips and
while falling, the pot of soup drops on the table, its contents spilling
onto the boy's face and his body.
The boy immediately jumps up and is pulled aside by his mum, but he can be seen writhing in pain. His father stands too and dumps the pot on the floor, away from his son, they nudges the waiter aside to get to his screaming son.
The child was taken to the hospital for treatment afterward. The family of the injured boy claim the waiter slipped because there was oil on the floor, and said he should have delivered the soup on a trolley instead of by hand. It is not known whether they'll be taking any action against the restaurant.
