President Buhari has reportedly ordered the Army to continue with its clampdown on members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
According to Daily Post, this was revealed by a reliable source in the presidency who spoke on the military operation in the South-East.
The source said ”Buhari
will never negotiate the unity of Nigeria and I can tell you that the
declaration by the military that IPOB are enemies of the state is the
outcome of the go-ahead by the president.”
“Rules
of engagement will be respected but force will be applied where
necessary. My advice is for the agitators to clam down and use wisdom.”
This is coming after the Defence Headquarters declared that IPOB will be treated as a terrorist organisation.
According
to reports, President Buhari will leave the country for the United
States of America (USA) on Sunday, September 17, 2017 to attend the 72nd
session of the United Nations' General Assembly in New York.
