The
radiant singer is marking 10 years in the music industry which
reflected in her choice of having 10 main tracks on the album (with
three bonus tracks).
On
the direction of this album, Becca tells Pulse she tried to give
everyone a whole new Becca that was aware of the sound of the times,
infusing new sounds into her Highlife.
''On
this album, I was in that youthful space where I was telling everybody
that there is a rebirth of Becca, and at the same time trying my hands
on more Afro-pop with a twist of Highlife which is my genre."
Becca played for the house songs such as Number one featuring Mr Eazi, explaining how working with the 'Leg over' singer is so easy because what he talks about in his songs is about everyday life situations.
On
her collaborations and why she most often than not the featured artist
starts off the song, Becca explains that she aims to make the guest
artist comfortable on the song, and make them see it equally as their
song.
“Every time I'm collaborating
with someone I tell them it's our song, let's do it together and when
you do that, the person wants to put their 100% in it, it's letting them
feel comfortable on what they jump in on, not like they are intruding
in your song so I give them the opportunity to start the song and I jump
in."
Playing a couple other songs off the album, the 'No away' singer gave the house gist about the message in the songs.
Becca,
currently undergoing massive promotions for the album will be heading
to London, New York and South Africa to further 'spread the gospel' of
her album.
The Pulse Music heads then give their final thoughts as a sign off which was heartwarming and encouraging.
