Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho might have had one or two uncomplimentary things to say about his predecessor Louis van Gaal but there was no bad blood between them when they met at the UEFA Elite Coaches Forum on Wednesday, August 30.
A
host of top European coaches attended the 19th edition of the annual
conference which was chaired by another of Mourinho's predecessor Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ferguson presented Van Gaal with a special plaque for managing 100 European matches at club level.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane, Paris Saint-Germain's Unai Emery, Newcastle's Rafa Benitez, Claudio Ranieri were all in attendance.
There were however notable absentees as Arsene Wenger, Antonio Conte and Pep Guardiola did not attend the conference.
UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin also hosted a slew of with former players including Peter Schmeichel and Xabi Alonso to discuss issues affecting today's stars.
A
wide range of topics including competition rules, laws of the game,
football promotion, education and post-football activities were also
discussed.
