What a wicked world we live in.
Kehinde Gabriel, 40, has been arraigned before a magistrate court in Ikeja, Lagos, for allegedly defiling a 3-year-old girl.
According to PUNCH Metro,
the incident happened in Onaosa, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos. The little girl
was on her way from a mosque with her sisters on Wednesday, August 16,
2017, when the incident was said to have happened.
Gabriel
who hails from Ogun state and a neighbour of the little girl's parents
allegedly laid an ambush for the girl on her way back from the mosque.
Her sisters reportedly left her behind.
Kehinde Gabriel allegedly lured the 3-year-old into his apartment with a loaf of bread and drink and defiled her.
Afterwards, the mother of the girl said her daughter came back home crying with blood found on her private parts.
"I
asked her what was wrong and she said it was Uncle Kehinde (Gabriel)
that gave the items to her. She was running temperature. While her
father and I were checking her body, we saw blood in her private parts" said her mother.
On his part, Kehinde Gabriel has denied this accusation. "I
saw the girl crying beside my house and I asked what happened to her.
She said she was hungry and I gave her bread and beans. I did not defile
her" he stated.
The charge against the accused reads "That,
you Kehinde Gabriel, on August 16, 2017, on Ogunse Street, Onaosa,
Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully
defile a three-year-old, thereby committing an offence punishable under
Section137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011."
Kehinde Gabriel's bail was set at N500,000 by the presiding magistrate Mrs B.O. Osunsanmi. The case has been adjourned to Tuesday, October 17, 2017.
